The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has permitted the formation of a new political party named the Ikhlaastheri Party of Maldives (IPM).
Vice President of ECM Ismail Habeeb said Mohamed Ismail has been permitted to form a new political party following the submission of all relevant documents.
Mohamed Ismail is currently counting 35 years of services to the state. He is now working at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
There are 10 political parties registered in the Maldives.
