ECM strategic plan for the next five years inaugurated

Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) strategic plan for the next five years. He launched the strategic plan during the special event organised by the ECM to celebrate the International Day of Democracy.

The strategic plan consists of the agenda from 2021 to 2025 as well as a roadmap on changes to be made by the ECM to achieve its goals. As part of the strategic plan, ECM also plans to improve its services using current technologies and resources.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the ECM Fuwad Thowfeek said the electoral body is continuing to gain experience with each election and making improvements accordingly. He said the ECM will continue to work hard to serve citizens honestly despite the criticisms it faces.

At the ceremony, Vice President Naseem presented commemorative plaques from the ECM, awarded to employees to acknowledge and recognise their contributions to the electoral body. At the event, ECM also launched an online portal displaying comparative statistics from past elections.
