North Regional Head Office in Kudhudhuffushi to benefit businesses

Commissioner General of Customs Abdulla Shareef has revealed the North Regional Head Office established in Kudhudhuffushi City will benefit local businesses. He made the remarks at a ceremony held to officially inaugurate the North Regional Head Office in Kudhudhuffushi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The office was officially inaugurated by Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi. Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner General Shareef said the office will assist in boosting the economic sectors in the region. He also added enhancement of regional customs services will reduce the traffic on Male' Commercial Harbour.

Meanwhile, Minister Mariya said the opening of the office in Kulhudhuffushi will minimise the time spent on goods clearance, reduce the expenses of businesses which will result in reduced prices for residents. She highlighted the large number of drugs confiscated by Maldives Customs Service (MCS), noting the institution is directly connected to the security and protection of the Maldives.
