The state receives USD 3.5 million as Zakat al-Maal.
The statistics published by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) revealed the USD 3.5 million the state received as of August this year is an increase of 53.6% compared to the same period last year. By August last year, the state received USD 2.26 million as Zakat al-Maal.
MIRA revealed out of the amount received as Zakat, 18,112 were collected as USD.
The Nisab for Zakat al-Maal in Maldives is USD 445. Any man or woman who meets the minimum requirements of wealth must pay their share of Zakat al-Maal.
