Fenaka Corporation Limited has provided electrical generators to Baarah in Haa Alifu Atoll, as well as Velidhoo and Miladhoo in Noonu Atoll.
Fenaka stated it provided the generators to cater to the surging demand for energy in the islands. As such, Fenaka provided a new 448 kiloWatt generator to Baarah to solve the island's generator overload issue. The new generator will improve electrical services to enable the provision of uninterrupted electricity to the existing demand on the island, said Fenaka. Baarah has been experiencing unreliable electricity, which has created enormous challenges for the local inhabitants of more than 1,215 residents.
Furthermore, Fenaka provided a new 800 kiloWatt generator to Velidhoo, which is expected to greatly improve the electricity services provided to the 2,600 island residents. Velidhoo has been experiencing unstable electricity, which has caused faults in electrical equipment and blackouts on the island.
Additionally, Miladhoo has received a 400 kiloWatt generator to enhance the electricity capacity on the island. Electricity in Miladhoo has also been unstable with the island experiencing frequent blackouts since the current generators are unable to meet the demand for electricity. Fenaka stated the additional generator will greatly improve electricity services and facilitate the provision of uninterrupted electricity services to the island with a population of more than 820 people.
Fenaka also said it continues to ensure the island communities are provided with an exceptional supply of electricity, water, as well as safe and reliable sewerage services.
