Ministry of Education has postponed the Edexcel AS'level examination for Grade 11 students.
The education ministry initially scheduled the AS'level examination for May/June next year. However, the ministry has postponed the examinations for Grade 11 students to grant them more time to study and prepare as they would be starting school on October 26.
The education ministry stated a circular has been sent to all schools, confirming that the AS'level examination for Grade 11 students has been postponed to October/November next year. The ministry stated the decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of the schools at the meeting of principals on August 29.
Major changes have been made to the examination schedules due to school closures following the COVID-19 restrictions. As such, the ministry was forced to hold last year's O'level examinations this year and cancel the Edexcel A'Level examinations scheduled for April/May 2021 due to a leak of several exam papers online.
The ministry has allowed students taking part in the A'Level exams to choose between taking the October/November exams or go for a teacher-based assessment.
