Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL) has opened the lounge areas of the new seaplane terminal in Velana International Airport (VIA) for lease.
MACL stated the selected companies will be required to set up and operate their business at the lounge areas in accordance with established guidelines.
The parties interested in leasing the lounges are required to register for the bidding process before 1400hrs on September 12. Only registered seaplane operators, tour operators, and resorts will be allowed to apply for the lounge areas.
MACL stated companies are required to submit USD 10,000 as bid security and that the deadline for submitting bids is September 27.
The new seaplane terminal is part of the USD 77 million investment to upgrade the services of VIA. Around 3.5 hectares of land were reclaimed in Hulhule' for the development of the new seaplane terminal.
The terminal will be equipped with VIP lounges, lobbies, baggage handling facilities, retail shops, and food and beverage services.
