Srilankan Airlines resumes flights from Colombo to Gan

SriLankan Airlines has announced it has resumed flights from Colombo to Gan, Addu City.

SriLankan Airlines stated passengers can book their flight on its official website or contact their travel agent for more information.

SriLankan Airlines will be operating chartered flights to Gan once per week and will begin scheduled flights soon. SriLankan Airlines has begun accepting reservations and stated passengers are required to obey the current travel restrictions and conditions.

General Sales Agent for SriLankan Airlines in the Maldives Mohamed Firaq confirmed scheduled flights will begin in the near future and said the schedule table will be publicised soon.

On December 01, 2016, SriLankan Airlines became the first international airline to fly to Gan, which is the southernmost atoll in the Maldives. The flights made it easier for Addu residents to travel abroad for medical treatment, as well as making it easier for local businesses to freight cargo.

SriLankan Airlines previously operated three weekly scheduled flights to Gan but stopped operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
