MTCC signs agreements to develop harbours in Gan, Muraidhoo

Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to develop the harbours in Gan, Laamu Atoll, and Muraidhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll.

The agreements were signed by the CEO of MTCC Adam Azim and Director-General Fathimath Shaana Farooq. Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer and Parliamentarian Mohamed Wisam also participated in the ceremony.

The project to design and build the harbour in Gan involves dredging and excavation operations, the construction of a 488-metre breakwater, a 310-metre quay wall, a bridge and harbour pavements, and the installation of harbour lights. MTCC is tasked with completing the project within 365 days at a cost of USD 1.6 million.

The project to design and build the harbour in Muraidhoo involves the dredging and excavation operations, construction of a 407-metre breakwater, a 50-metre groyne, a 105-metre revetment, a 212-metre quay wall, a ramp, a walkway bridge and harbour pavement, and the installation of harbour lights.

MTCC is tasked with completing the project within 365 days at a cost of 2.2 million US dollars.
