Discussions held on eliminating acts that violate Islamic Shariah

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has conducted a high-level discussion with relevant authorities on ways to protect the society from acts that violate the Islamic Shariah.

The discussion meeting was held at the Islamic ministry on August 22. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Maldives Police Service (MPS).

During the meeting, the authorities discussed on ways to seek legal power to take the required action to resolve such issues. The authorities also discussed on ways to collaborate together to remove the obstacles faced in protecting the Islamic values and principles established in the society.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir, Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed, as well as other senior officials of the institutions.
