Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has stated the aim of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) is to actualise President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's long-term vision for the military. She made the statement in her speech at the ceremony to conclude the 67th training course conducted at the MNDF College of Defence and Security Studies (CDSS).
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Basic School at the Northern Area Headquarters, Minister Mariya said the key to success is to complete any given task to the best of one's abilities. She said the current aim of the MNDF is to actualise President Solih's vision and to retain the trust of citizens as well as to remain a fighting-fit force. She also advised MNDF officers to keep contributing to the country and to fulfill their mandate while keeping discipline and achieving acclaim for the country in various fields.
A total of 80 students completed the training course, and students who showed exceptional skills were given awards by the Commanding Officer of CDSS Brigadier General Wais Waheed. As such, the award for the best overall student at the training course was given to Private Hassan Izhad and the award for best sharpshooter was given to Private Adam Mufeed.
The purpose of the CDSS training course is to provide training in various fields in the military to new recruits.
