30 hectares of land to be reclaimed as part of Thilafushi master plan

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed 30 hectares of land will be reclaimed in Thilafushi this year as part of the Thilafushi Master Plan. The Thilafushi Master Plan includes reclaiming a total of 127 hectares of land and developing the Greater Male' Region into a commercial hub.

Speaking to PSM News, the Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed said 30 hectares will be reclaimed in order to lease the land next year. HDC plans to develop Thilafushi into an industrial and commercial hub by constructing office buildings and recreational centres, he said.
