Male’ City Council has revealed permits had been issued to 17 new fishing vessels in the past one month.
As per the statistics publicised by the city council, 17 fishing vessels and 96 fishermen were issued permits between June 18 and July 17. The city council also revealed it had addressed 3 issues related to marine areas during this period, of which one issue was resolved.
Furthermore, the Male’ City Council revealed it had inspected the safety of 75 construction sites between June 18 and July 17. The city council revealed it had addressed and resolved safety concerns of 6 sites during this period.
The city council further revealed 1,058 locations were inspected as part of efforts to control the mosquito population, and treated 119 locations which had an environment for mosquito breeding. The city council revealed 1,294 drainage pits were treated with mosquito repellent during this period, while 79 blocks were fogged.
