UAE adds Maldives to travel green list

The UAE has added the Maldives to its travel green list in the latest update issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism.

A total of seven countries have been added to the list including Bahrain, Brunei, Bulgaria, Poland, Serbia and Ukraine in addition to the Maldives. Further, 11 countries have also been removed from the list, including Denmark, France, Iceland, Jordan, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Turkmenistan and the Vatican City.

Vaccinated travellers arriving from the green listed destinations will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing and will be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, as well as another PCR test on the sixth day of arrival. Unvaccinated travellers arriving from these countries are exempt from mandatory quarantine but will also need to undergo PCR testing on arrival, as well as two further PCR tests on the sith and the twelfth day.

The list only applies to countries passengers are arriving from, rather than the country in which they have citizenship. However, vaccinated travellers arriving from the countries not on the green list must undergo quarantine for seven days with a follow-up PCR test on the sixth day.

Unvaccinated travellers arriving from countries not on the green list must be in quarantine for 12 days and undergo a follow-up PCR test after 11 days.
