Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has participated in the Luxury Travel Advisors ULTRA Summit 2021 to maintain the destination presence and promote the Maldives as a unique luxury travel destination in the US market.
MMPRC stated this was the first physical fair that it has taken part in this year targeting the US market and that its main objective was to maintain the Maldives as a safe destination for travellers in the luxury markets.
Luxury Travel Advisor's ULTRA Summit is one of the most notable events for the luxury travel segment in the USA. The exclusive business-to-business event was held in Texas for companies that offer luxury products, who wish to establish new contacts and strengthen ties in the US markets. The event invites only pre-qualified, leading luxury travel agency owners and managers in the US who are eager to meet with luxury travel suppliers, stated MMPRC.
The Maldives will also be promoted on the website banner in addition to the intermarket exposure during the event. MMPRC stated the event is in line with its strategies for the US market to increase exposure by participating in major fairs to expand business-to-business contact with tour agents and to extend connections with the diving market in the US region.
Additionally, MMPRC stated the Maldives has welcomed 27,759 tourists from the US since the reopening of borders in 2020, notably ranking it among the top 10 markets with the most tourist arrivals to the Maldives. MMPRC has also scheduled familiarization trips, joint market campaigns with stakeholders, and various virtual events to increase the popularity of the Maldives within the US market.
