Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has commenced a promotional campaign targeting the tourist market of Indonesia.
MMPRC stated the one-month long campaign will include promotional activities on platforms such as Google and YouTube, to advertise the Maldives to Indonesian tourists. MMPRC said the campaign will showcase the natural beauty of the Maldives and advertise tourist facilities in the country including resorts, guesthouses and hotels. MMPRC said the advertisements will be re-directed towards many different target groups, websites and blogs.
During recent years, tourist arrivals from Southeast Asian countries have increased in the Maldives. As such, the Maldives recorded 87,636 tourist arrivals from Southeast Asia in 2019.
Despite the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, MMPRC is carrying out several promotional activities for different tourist markets. MMPRC stated the aim of the latest campaign is to establish the Maldives as a popular tourist destination among Southeast Asian tourists.
