Ministry of Tourism has revealed the daily average of tourist arrivals to the Maldives is currently above 3,000.
As per the latest statistics shared by the tourism ministry, the current daily average of tourist arrivals to the Maldives is recorded at 3,113. This is the first time daily average has exceeded 3,000 since April.
Tourist arrivals had dropped during May and June due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. As such, the daily average of tourist arrivals was 2,084 in May and 1,872 in June.
The statistics of the tourism ministry revealed the country has recorded a total of 65,382 tourist arrivals so far during July. This has already exceeded the total of 56,166 arrivals recorded during June.
The Maldives has recorded a total of 575,931 tourist arrivals so far this year. Russia has contributed the largest percentage of tourist arrivals to the Maldives so far this year, with 23.8% of all arrivals. India is second on the list with 16.5%, while Germany is third with 5.5%.
The tourism ministry revealed a tourist currently spend an average of 9 days in the Maldives.
