Hiyaa recipients who provided documents allowed to sign contracts

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated recipients who submitted all the necessary documents are allowed to sign the agreement to receive apartments in the Hiyaa Public Housing Scheme HDC stated it will begin signing the agreements with recipients on July 15 at Hiriya School.

The published schedule shows HDC will be signing the agreements with recipients until August 15. HDC stated it will make appointments to sign agreements with recipients who have provided all the necessary information. Therefore, the corporation requested all recipients to submit documents detailing their personal information and the documents verifying any other party that will be signing the agreement on behalf of the recipient. Work is still ongoing to establish water and electricity services at the buildings and that it will only begin counting the three-month grace period for paying rent after the work is completed, stated HDC.

Furthermore, recipients will be allowed to move into the apartments after the electricity services are established and the elevators are in operation. However, HDC will be handing over the apartment keys on the day the recipients sign the agreement.

Hiyaa is the largest public housing project in Hulhumale' Phase II, with 6,720 apartments accommodating over 25,000 people.
