Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has opened a co-workspace in Male' City.
Co-workspaces are shared office spaces that are cheap enough to rent for young entrepreneurs and start-ups. The co-workspace, named Seed by BCC, is exclusive to start-ups and freelancers and can house 40 people at a time. Seed by BCC is located at Kaneeru Villa in Orchid Magu, Male' and will be open from 0830hrs to 2200hrs.
Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail said the co-workspace will provide high-speed internet access and have printers and other office equipment and resources. He expressed plans to open more co-workspaces in the Greater Male' Region and the atolls and provide various packages at low prices.
Furthermore, the economic minister noted that economic growth depends on the success of small businesses and start-ups and that the economic ministry has made plans to assist more small businesses, including opening a special workspace for garment shops.
