Higher Education Ministry urges college institutes to communicate important changes

Ministry of Higher Education has instructed all local higher education institutes to communicate with the ministry on any important changes brought to the institutes.

In a press release, the higher education ministry said it has noticed that some college institutes registered at the ministry have not communicated important changes brought to the institutes, such as changes to management, operations, campus, outreach centres, address, phone numbers and email. The ministry said any such changes should officially communicated with the ministry.

The higher education ministry highlighted the registry issued to higher education institutes also states changes to important information must be communicated directly to the ministry. The ministry also noted any change in management, especially regarding the ownership of an institute, must be implemented following the submission of the required documentation to the ministry.

The higher education ministry further noted institutes that fail to comply with the regulations could face severe action from the ministry, ranging from fines to termination of license. The ministry said the government would bear no responsibility to any damages incurred from abolishing an institution that fails to comply with regulations.
