Apollo Holdings Private Limited has commenced the physical works of the project to construct 1,000 housing units in Hulhumale’.
The project is carried out as part of the housing projects carried out by the government across different regions of the country. As such, the project to construct 1,000 housing units in Hulhumale’ was contracted to Apollo Holdings under contractor financing policy. The company has commenced works on the foundation of the mixed-residential buildings to be constructed under the project.
The 1,000 housing units to be constructed by Apollo includes different ranges of housing units. The units are to be distributed to four different categories of recipients. The project is carried out across different zones of Hulhumale Phase I and Phase II.
The government is conducting several housing projects across the country as part of efforts to resolve the issues related to lack of adequate housing, especially in the capital Male’. Speaking at an event held earlier this year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said surveys conducted by the administration revealed there about 17,000 families in Male’ in need of housing. He said the administration plans construct 15,000 new housing units by the end of the current term.
