Maldives and Bangladesh have held discussions to promote the Maldives as a tourist destination in Bangladesh.
The discussions were held between the President of Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) Md. Rafeuzzaman and High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh Shiruzimath Sameer. During the meeting, discussions focused on further ways the Maldives can be promoted as a tourist destination to the people of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is marked as a market with the fourth-highest visitors to the Maldives from South Asia. As such, pre-pandemic statistics show that 3,918 tourists arrived from Bangladesh in 2019, which is an increase of 7.5 percent compared to 2018.
