Delivery permits invalid after June 8

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has stated the vehicle permits for delivery services will be invalid after June 8. The vehicle permits are being changed to support permits, revealed MPS adding businesses can apply for the support permit using the Police Permit Portal and continue providing delivery services.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the Greater Male' Region, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has imposed a curfew during which residents are not allowed outside between 1600hrs and 0400hrs without a permit. Residents can only leave their homes for emergencies or for other necessary tasks after receiving a permit from the MPS.

Furthermore, shops are not allowed to serve customers inside the outlets during curfew hours, and cafes/restaurants are not allowed to provide takeaway services during curfew hours. After obtaining permits for their employees, shops, cafes, and restaurants can provide delivery services from 0600hrs to 0000hrs, and provide takeaway services from 0800hrs to 1600hrs.

Establishments violating the guidelines are to be fined USD 325.
