The national airline, Maldivian, has suspended its call centre services due to the decrease in flight operations amid the latest surge of COVID-19.
Maldivian announced its call centre will closed from May 13 until further notice. The airline stated ticket issuance will be conducted through its Viber and email services between 1000hrs and 1400hrs every day, except Friday. The airline added customers can also purchase their tickets through the mobile application of Maldivian.
Maldivian operates domestic flights to 16 destinations across the Maldives. The airline also operates international flights to India and Bangladesh, although the operations have been halted due to the surge of COVID-19 in South Asian countries. However, Maldivian stated flights will be operated for expatriates who wish to return to their home countries and locals who wish to travel for medical purposes.
