Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has commenced a marketing campaign in association with Kazakhstan’s national airline Air Astana, to promote the Maldives as a safe tourist destination.
MMPRC stated the aim of the campaign is to promote the Maldives as one of the most popular and safest tourist destinations in the world, and to boost the number of tourist arrivals from Kazakhstan. MMPRC said the campaign includes special marketing activities aimed at travel trade and consumers, such as familiarisation trips and a travel webinar. In addition, MMPRC also plans to conduct digital media activities targeting tourists, as well as an ambient outdoor campaign and radio advertisement activities.
As part of the campaign, travel agents from Kazakhstan visited the Maldives on April 21. The Kazakh travel agents are accommodated by Kanuhura Maldives and Six Senses Laamu during their stay in the Maldives.
A second team of travel agents from Kazakhstan are scheduled to arrive on April 26. They will be staying at Adhaaran Select Meedhupparu, Velassaru Maldives and Dhigali Maldives.
Air Astana began its operations to the Maldives in December 2020. With the beginning of Air Astana’s operations to the Maldives, Kazakhstan has become the fifth biggest source market of the Maldivian tourism industry.
