Maldives and Kuwait sign two MoUs to fortify cooperation between the two countries

The Governments of the Maldives and Kuwait have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to fortify bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The agreements were signed at a ceremony held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, in Kuwait City, on April 21. The agreements were signed as part of the ongoing official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid to Kuwait.

The two agreements concluded were a ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait’, and a ‘Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Maldives and the Government of Kuwait in the Field of Tourism’. The MoUs were signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on behalf of the Maldives, and Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait, Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on behalf of Kuwait.

The MoUs will further strengthen the close ties of friendship between Maldives and Kuwait, develop cooperation in the field of tourism, promote further collaborations and exchanges, and facilitate the effective implementation of key understandings and agreements reached by the Governments of the two countries.
