MMPRC launches campaign with Amazon India to promote the Maldives

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a campaign with Amazon India to promote the Maldives.

MMPRC stated the campaign, which will be conducted from April 14 to May 13, will focus on promoting the Maldives as one of the safest tourist destinations in the world. MMPRC said the campaign will enable the Maldives to be advertised among more than 35 million customers that visit the Amazon India platform every day. MMPRC said the objective of the campaign is to increase the popularity of the Maldives among the Indian tourist market.

Amazon India is one of the strongest e-commerce platforms in India. As such, 77% of customers that use digital platforms in India seek services from Amazon India. More than 65% of them are shown to be interested in travel and tourism.

India is currently the top contributor of tourists to the Maldives. As per the statistics of the Ministry of Tourism, 69,730 tourists had visited the Maldives from India within the first three months of 2021. This represents 23% of all tourist arrivals during this period.
