WAMCO expresses concern over improper disposal of waste

Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has expressed concern over the improper disposal of waste during the first two days of the month of Ramadan.

In a press release, WAMCO stated it has received complaints over residents leaving bulky waste on the streets, which is in violation of the corporation's regulations. Furthermore, WAMCO expressed concern over non-registered households taking advantage of the corporation's policy on leaving waste on the ground floor, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, by leaving their waste outside.

WAMCO has changed its policies for the month of Ramadan for the benefit of its workers and registered households, by requiring households to leave out their waste for collection from 2200hrs to 2300hrs. WAMCO urged households to follow the schedule, since the month of Ramadan sees an increase in waste. WAMCO also advised all households to securely close the bags before taking them out, in order to prevent any leakage onto the streets.
