JSC begins probe of two judges over disciplinary issues

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has commenced investigations into Civil Court Judge Zubair Mohamed and Criminal Court Judge Mohamed Sameer over disciplinary issues.

The case against Judge Sameer is related to his behaviour while presiding over a hearing to extend a convict's prison sentence. Meawnhile, the case against Judge Zubair involves issuing a verdict of a case without both parties present. JSC previously investigated Judge Zubair over allegations of participating in political activities.

JSC has formed investigation committees to probe the cases.
