Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority has opened applications for the National Apprenticeship Programme.
The National Apprenticeship Programme is conducted by TVET Authority, in collaboration with state-owned enterprises and training institutes. The aim of the programme is to train youth for the employment market by developing their skills across different sectors which are important for national development. Under the programme, 3,000 individuals will be trained this year.
Speaking at a press conference held to announce the opening of the programme, Minister of State for Higher Education Mohamed Hashim said the programme will be conducted in accordance to the TVET Authority’s National Competency Standards. He added individuals who complete the programme will receive a qualification equivalent to Level 3 of the Maldives National Qualification Framework (MNQF).
The programme is open for all youth above the age of 18. The programme is undertaken for a duration of six months. Participants will receive a minimum allowance of USD 200 during the period of the programme.
