Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested another two individuals over the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Maamendhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
17-year-old Ahmed Udayyu was stabbed to death in Maamendhoo on February 9. MPS had initially arrested three people, aged 18, 23 and 27, over the murder. MPS revealed another two people, aged 18 and 25, were arrested on February 10 in relation to the murder. All were arrested under a court order.
Gaafu Alifu Atoll Hospital revealed Udayyu had 5-inch deep wounds on his back which damaged his vital organs. He had already died when he was brought to the hospital.
It is believed that the stabbing was related to a conflict between two gangs.
