President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been presented with a copy of a book published on the occasion of the silver jubilee of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
The book was presented to the President by Hassan Shah, the managing director of MWSC, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office on January 20. It is based on the history of the company.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih highlighted the company’s critical work in providing essential services to the residents of Male’ and numerous other islands. He said the company plays a vital role in realising the government’s commitment to providing safe drinking water and sanitation services across the country. He went on to congratulate MWSC and its staff for its numerous accomplishments over the years.
The book is based on the state and development water and sanitation services in Male’ over the history of MWSC. It also contains details of the first-ever academic study published on water and sanitation in Male’.
