Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has opened the lounge areas of the new seaplane terminal in Velana International Airport (VIA) for lease.
MACL stated lounge areas in the new seaplane terminal at VIA are open for lease for registered seaplane operators, tour operators and resorts. MACL said companies interested in renting a lounge area must register for tender before 1300hrs on December 10 and place their bids before December 30. The company said a bid security of USD 10,000 must be submitted along with the bid.
MACL revealed the new seaplane terminal at VIA will be brought into operation during the first quarter of next year. MACL further stated parties which rent lounge areas in the new seaplane terminal must setup and operate the areas in accordance to the guidelines set by MACL.
The new seaplane terminal is part of the USD 77 million investment to upgrade the services of VIA. 3.5 hectares of land were reclaimed in Hulhule’ for the development of the new seaplane terminal. The terminal will be equipped with VIP lounges, lobbies, baggage handling facilities, retail shops and food and beverage services.
