Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has stated the corporation will be increasing promotional activities for the Maldivian guesthouse industry in the coming months.
Speaking at the TTM Travel Summit, Managing Director of MMPRC Thoyyib Mohamed acknowledged that there have not been enough promotional activities focused on the guesthouse industry in the past. However, he said MMPRC plans to focus more efforts on the guesthouse industry in the future. As such, he noted the corporation is already conducting promotional activities for guesthouses on social media platforms. He also called on all guesthouses to register as members of MMPRC.
Speaking further, Thoyyib said all stakeholders of the Maldivian tourism industry will coordinate together to increase tourist arrivals in the Maldives in 2021. He noted a wide range of promotional and marketing activities have been planned for next year.
TTM Travel Summit is the largest annual travel summit held among stakeholders of the Maldivian tourism industry. This year’s summit is being held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
