Applications open for ECM membership

The President’s Office has opened applications for the vacant membership position at the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM).

Applications for the position are open following the resignation of Ahmed Akram over allegations of sexual harassment. His resignation came after the Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions passed the decision to dismiss him, after conducting an inquiry into the allegations.

The President’s Office said the applications for the vacant membership position will be accepted between November 30 until December 2, from 0930 to 1230 hours. Application forms are available from the President’s Office and are available for download at its website.
