Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment have signed an agreement of cooperation on matters related to youth development.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof during a ceremony held at the Economic Ministry.
Speaking at a press conference held after signing the agreement, Youth Minister Mahloof said the agreement was signed to facilitate opportunities for the youth through different programmes launched by the Economic Ministry. He said although the Youth Ministry is the main government body responsible for youth-related matters, all ministries and government bodies undertake important programmes for the youth.
Speaking at the press conference, Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail said the biggest mandate of the ministry is developing the business and employment market of the Maldives. He noted the Economic Ministry will soon be launching a business pitching programme aimed for the youth, in coordination with the Youth Ministry. He said the programme will facilitate new business opportunities for the youth.
