Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated beaches in Hulhumale’ Phase Two are open for public use, although special events will not be permitted yet.
Hulhumale Phase Two was officially opened last month and families who have developed their own houses in the area have started to move in to Phase Two. Last week, one of the bridges connecting Phase One and Phase Two was opened to allow easier access into Phase Two.
Director of HDC Municipal Department Adam Azmee said with the opening of the bridge, the area where people have started to move in is now open for public. However, he said other areas are still closed as there are several construction sites in other areas of Phase Two. He added closed areas have been marked and fenced.
The director further noted beaches in Phase Two have now been opened for public use, under the same policy as the beaches in Phase One. However, he said special events and activities will not yet be allowed in Phase Two beaches.
