Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated the development of the new medical facility in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll will be completed in October.
MTCC began the development of the medical facility in Thinadhoo on September 25. The facility will include 22 beds and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) along with other facilities and equipment needed to treat COVID-19 patients.
MTCC revealed 15% of the project has now been completed. The state-owned company said the project is expected to be completed by October 14.
The government has established medical facilities in five regions for COVID-19 patients. In this regard, facilities have been established in Funadhoo in Shaviyani Atoll, Eydhafushi in Baa Atoll, Gan in Laamu Atoll, Villingili in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Addu City. Furthermore, transit medical facilities have been established in Ihavandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll and Fuvahmulah City.
