Indian Navy Ship, INS Sunayna has arrived in the Maldives to participate in a serial joint maritime surface surveillance patrol by the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Coastguard and Indian Navy.
MNDF revealed the surveillance patrol of the Maldives Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) will be held from September 27 to October 4. The serial patrolling of MNDF Coastguard and Indian Navy was launched in 2009. The upcoming patrol marks the 70th such surveillance patrol.
India and Maldives are close maritime neighbours with strong and extremely cordial defense and diplomatic relations.
