Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun preparations to commence the harbour development project in Dhoonidhoo, Kaafu atoll.
MTCC said the site for harbour redevelopment and shore protection project in Dhoonidhoo was mobilised on September 21. The project will include, dredging and excavation works on 4.61-hectare area, reclamation of 3.75 hectares of new land, 193-meter-long breakwater, 167-meter-long breakwater, 9.5-meter-long breakwater, 620-meter-long revetment core and 250-meter quay wall.
The project was awarded to MTCC on September 5, 2019. MTCC revealed the project is estimated to cost about USD 3.3 million.
