Committee approves five names for MIRA board membership

Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the names of 5 individuals who applied for the directors’ board of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

Four membership positions on the board of MIRA was vacated following the resignation of one member and the expiry of three other members’ terms. 8 individuals had applied for MIRA board membership during the application period announced by the President’s Office.

Following the review of all applicants, the parliament committee has decided to approve 5 names to be sent for final selection. The approved names are Mumthaz Abdul Rasheed, Leena Mohamed Zahir Hussain, Husham Waheed, Ali Irufan and Aishath Asha Ali.

The board of MIRA is composed of 7 members, including 5 members appointed by the president, 1 member appointed by the Minister of Finance and the Commissioner General of Taxation.
