Cabinet discusses medium-term fiscal plans and debt-strategy of the Maldives

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has led a cabinet session to discuss the medium-term fiscal plans and debt strategy of the government in accordance with the provisions of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

The cabinet session was held online on August 11. During the session, Ministry of Finance presented a paper outlining its ideas relevant to the existing medium-term fiscal plans and debt-strategy. Cabinet discussions pertained to making the necessary amendments to existing plans, in light of the present circumstances.

The cabinet also discussed the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with emphasis on the necessary immediate measures the government should take to safeguard people from the disease and its impacts.
