Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the expansion of the harbour in Hulhudhoo, Addu City.
MTCC said the project was mobilised on July 28, adding dredging work is now underway. The project involves dredging and excavation of 88,623 cubic meters, along with the construction of a 114-metre breakwater and 624-metre revetment. A 4-metre wide bridge will also constructed to link the revetment and the breakwater.
The project was contracted to MTCC on March 1, at a cost of USD 4 million. The project is expected to be completed within 1 year and 10 days.
