Ministry of Home Affairs has begun working together with and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to launch a joint media campaign to discuss current social challenges.
The joint programme would be conducted under UNDP's Integrated Governance Programme in collaboration with the home ministry. The home ministry held a virtual meeting with stakeholders to discuss and prepare for the campaign which was commenced by Minister of State for Home Affairs Mohamed Mahir Easa.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and identify current social challenges in the community. The discussions focused on formulating a message to address the issues in the media campaign. Additionally, discussions were also held on ways to improve strained social ties amid COVID-19 and how the campaign can communicate the message on improving ties even during the pandemic.
Before the meeting, participants were briefed on the current situation and social unity in the country. A total of 30 participants joined the meeting including representatives from the government, non-governmenatal organisations and other stakeholders. Additionally, various ministries also joined the meeting held to prepare for the media campaign.
