COVID-19 death toll rises to 14 in the Maldives

Health protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 79-year-old Maldivian woman has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the woman had passed away at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility at approximately 1700hrs on July 14. This is the 14th COVID-19 related death recorded in the Maldives.

The first COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives was that of an 83-year-old Maldivian woman who passed away on April 29. The COVID-19 deaths recorded in the Maldives include 9 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis and 1 Filipino.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has now risen to 2,762. This includes 443 active cases and 2,290 recoveries.
