HPA begins inspection of compliance to COVID-19 control measures

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has commenced an inspection of compliance to COVID-19 control measures in public places.

HPA revealed the inspection is carried out to ensure public places such as cafes, restaurants, local markets, salons and gyms are implementing the COVID-19 control measures in accordance to the guidelines issued by HPA. The inspection is carried out in collaboration with Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA), Ministry of Economic Development, Male’ City Council, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), Maldives Police Service (MPS) and Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC).

HPA revealed the inspection will be carried out in Male’, Villimale’, Hulhumale’ and Thilafushi. HPA said action will be taken as necessary on places with direct violations of the guidelines.

HPA has called for public support and cooperation in implementing the required precautionary measures against COVID-19, in order to contain the spread of the disease.
