Shops permitted to be open from 0900hrs until 2100hrs

Ministry of Economic Development has decided to permit shops to remain open for walk-in customers from 0900hrs until 2100hrs.

After keeping all businesses closed for two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic ministry has decided to permit all businesses to reopen after several measures were taken to ease the lockdown in the Greater Male' Region on April 15. The ministry said while shops are now allowed to serve walk-in customers between 0900hrs and 2100hrs, deliveries will be permitted until 2200hrs.

The government previously announced its decision to permit deliveries until 2300hrs. However, the decision has been revised to require a police permit for all deliveries after 2200hrs.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged the public to ensure safety measures in efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
