Number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives exceeds 2,000

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 2,013.

HPA said 794 individuals are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 8 patients who are undergoing treatment at Tree Top Hospital and in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. Another 2 foreigners are being treated abroad after contracting the disease while in the Maldives.

A total of 1,209 individuals have made full recoveries from COVID-19 in the Maldives. The country has recorded 8 deaths from COVID-19, including four Maldivians aged 80, 83, 88 and 89 and four Bangladeshis aged 33, 38, 45 and 54.

There are currently 306 individuals are currently in quarantine facilities and 789 individuals in isolation facilities across the Maldives.
