Number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives rises to 1,872

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 1,872.

HPA said 1,215 individuals are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 13 patients who are undergoing treatment at Tree Top Hospital and in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. Another 2 foreigners are being treated abroad after contracting the disease while in the Maldives. A total of 648 individuals have made full recoveries from COVID-19 in the Maldives. Maldives has recorded 7 deaths from COVID-19, including four Maldivians aged 80, 83, 88 and 89 and three Bangladeshis aged 33, 45 and 54.

Meanwhile, 1,478 individuals are currently in quarantine facilities and 1,217 individuals in isolation facilities across the Maldives.
