MPS shares information on police operations amid COVID-19 with Interpol

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has shared information of the operations undertaken police amid the COVID-19 pandemic with International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed shared the experience of the Maldives with Interpol at a virtual meeting held with the police chiefs and the heads of national central bureau from the Asia and South Pacific Region. The police commissioner shared the role and recent efforts of MPS in containing the virus with the Secretary General of Interpol Jürgen Stock. The commissioner additionally discussed the challenges MPS faces in law enforcement amidst the pandemic.

After the virtual meeting, Secretary General of Interpol Jürgen Stock thanked the participants for their valuable insights and for the useful and constructive exchange. Police heads from Philippines, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, China and South Korea had attended the meeting.
